Guitar Hero 3 dongle not connecting!

Im gonna try to make this simple .

I bought guitar hero
I lent my guitar to my friend
I rented a guitar
My friend gave me my guitar back
I brought the rented guitar back

Now, something happened in there with the USB dongles for the guitar, and now my guitar wont connect.

Just wondering if theres something i have to do. Possibly some button combination to get it to connect? I dont know...

Am i completely screwed? My friends guitar is connecting fine, so i dont know if maybe i stole the rental guitars dongle?

This sucks. Oh well. Anyone have any idea?

It sounds like your friends guitar is linked to the dongle. I'm not entirely sure of this..., have you tried re-synching your guitar?

Never-mind! I pushed the connect button twice so the lights would start flashing fast, and they connected.

Don't know if the dongles are guitar specific. But I'd say it's very likely. You may need to get your instruction book out and basically start from scratch. If the rental guitar did 'synch' to your system, and now your system no longer recognizes your own guitar. You may need to start from scratch (just like you have to reassign a controller as being controller #1 when switching from a controller with a dead battery to initializing a second controller (by turning it on) and reassigning THAT controller as controller #1).

Start from scratch. I'd even unplug the dongle, turn off the ps3, and boot from scratch, follow the directions...
