Question about "I am Legend" - Blu-ray Forum

Does anyone have this Blu-ray. I guess it gets very high marks for PQ. My question is this: I heard this movie has the alternate ending (I've seen the video of the alternate ending online and it's WAAAaaaay better than the theatrical ending in my opinion)... can anyone verify that the Blu-ray has the alternate ending... and how does it work (is it an option right in the menu to play that version)?

The blu ray has the alternate ending (and has a big text blurb on the front saying "alternate ending included")
It is in the special features menu.

so, does the alternate ending play along with the movie (in other words can you have it as part of the movie INSTEAD of the theatrical ending)? OR is it just a short clip that you can view separately?

I would think you can choose theatrical or alternate, but who knows but the people that already have it

Precisely! And, I just noticed it doesn't come out until next Tuesday (I thought this one came out yesterday but I was wrong)... so, now I wait!

According to the HighDefDigest review:

Note that 'I Am Legend' includes both the Theatrical and Alternate Version of the movie available via seamless branching on a single BD-50 dual-layer disc. You are given the option of which cut of the film you want to watch as soon as the disc fires up, and the alternate footage is perfectly integrated -- I couldn't detect a bit of difference in terms of video quality between the two versions.

umm the theatrical since that's what millions of people saw in theaters.

but only the blu-ray and the 2-disc SE will have the alt cut. Most poeple will buy the single disc DVD
