Aw man I was hoping the rumors about Tim Burton getting the job for directing the last book were true. Oh well I guess they do have to stay consistent with the other film's styles. I think that is so stupid to have two parts. I mean yes there is a lot of important details in HPDH, but come on! We have Blu-ray now! We got space.

Yes, by simply removing the Bonus DVD and the Interactive DVD game.

No box for me . . . but hopefully they'll put both parts out on one disc and they make the cut so they can just stick 'em together as one movie. Almost half my shelf will be Harry Potter if they don't

Amen. Just because it's 2 movies doesn't mean they can't put it on one 50gb Blu-ray. Or just put 2 discs into one of those little sleeves that goes inside the collector's box. They're pretty thick as it is.

+1! I owned the individual cases rather than boxset.

Pssh...you think we're going to wait a year and then some so they release both on one Blu-Ray? You best believe we're getting two.

But ahhh, 2011 until? I'll be old then. Rubbish.

I wish they were more like 3 months apart... 6 is pushing it a bit much. And they better not do something lame to end the first part, I would rather see a "To be Concluded" I think

Um... I'm thinking each film might just be over 2 1/2 hours...

You could put than on a BD-50, but I don't want to think about the actual quality.

Besides, Pt 1 is due in November 2009 while Pt 2 is May 2009. Pt 1 will be released on home video in April or May of 2009 to promote Pt 2.

I own the box set, and knew when purchasing it that more movies may not fit even if you take out the extra two DVD discs. If by removing those I can fit all the Harry Potter movies, then so be it, if not, it is not a big deal.

if the amount of book content excised in OotP (aka potter 5) is any guide, we're going to be getting 2 full sized movies (i.e. 2+ hours each).

i personally think this is a wonderful idea. i just wish they'd started doing this sooner... like, say... with potter 5.

You're forgetting one thing... there will be now 3 Harry Potter movies on the way instead of 2. That means 3 Blu-ray cases, not 2.

Or 4 . . . that's where they REALLY started leaving stuff out. The third could have even stood to be longer. The first two are pretty accurate though, as they're short (as is the third, but the third is a lot "heavier") books.

No box, but it will look funny with the first 5 in red, and the next 3 in blue cases.

oh absolutely.

3 however was imo also hampered by wacky directorial intent... thank god cuaron didn't get the gig for the later movies. so... disjointed...

Opinions, opinions. I thought Cuaron did Azkaban beautifully. His was a unique approach because he injected his perspective into it. Columbus was just boring, Newell was enjoyable, and Yates just crumbled the series. I am a little worried for the remaining movies to come as his direction is my least favorite. I'd pick Columbus' boring-but-faithful over Yates' messiness.

As for the BD collection... I'll just buy individuals as they come along. I'd love an extra deluxe set come number 7, but that's just too long to wait. Of course, I could sell the individuals and double dip on the deluxe set sometime in the future.

Like I said, it is OK. Either way, I knew what I was doing when I bought it and still do not regret getting this box set.
