Default Problems with Downloads

For those that think downloads are ready to take over, stuff like this is what will get people frustrated with the idea of them.

Below is a link to to a thread on tivocommunity from somebody who "bought' several movies from Amazon Unbox. Later on, he went to re-downloaded the movies he had bought and was told they were now unavailable and they had no idea when he would be able to re-download the movies he had bought. Evidently if a movie is playing on the cable movie channels, you cannot re-download it even if you bought it. So a purchase isn't really a purchase huh?

Downloads will not be a big threat until content providers stop pulling stuff like this. Downloads may work for rentals, but are a long way from working for purchase.

I dont mind it for an ipod or something but like to make it mainstream yuck, + I'm sure most people dont have even dsl or standard cable 5mbps, so downloading like a blu-ray with special features exc. seems like a waste to me
