Default Casualties Of War (1989)

Brian De Palma's Casualties Of War gets a very interesting looking double disc set from Koch on December 1st https://www.amazon.de/Die-Verdammten...7663730&sr=8-1 I had been tempted by the Japanese edition for a while but this looks a better bet as it has both cuts

Decent video quality for a "catalogue title". But the only lossless audio track is German for the extended version. All other tracks are just regular DTS.
31 minute making of featurette, 18 minute Interview with Michael J. Fox, Trailer, picture gallery, deleted scenes.

Yep extra features sound like the same from the other blu ray and regular DVD. I guess the only real plus is the actual extended cut itself which IMO is worth getting just for that.

I read how Casualties Of War is the only film Brian De Palma has made where he himself went back to restore his own preferred version of the film. Apparently he was upset at how the film did commercially more so at the fact he was forced to cut parts and compromise his vision and in the end it failed at the box office and people didn't even get to see the version of the film he wanted.

I wondered about that; I noticed that they called it an "extended cut" rather than a "director's cut", but in the DVD extras on the theatrical cut, he seemed genuinely annoyed that the cut scenes were cut, and they were restored for the extended cut (and the equivalent scenes were included when he did his semi-remake "Redacted"). (Extra-weird after he did let Shout call the re-cut of "Raising Cain" a director's cut, even though he had nothing to do with it other than approving it.)

Are the deleted scenes included (as an extra) in this set and also in Japanese BD same scenes that have been edited back in the movie in so called Extended Version?

The scenes are integrated, but the BD was filtered and sharpened:
