Default Greedy George Is At It Again

You never can resist the urge to double-dip do you, Mr. Lucas? Why do you feel the need to give the finger to fans and rip-off their hard earned money? Just a week before the the new Indiana Jones movie you will be releasing the three prior films separately so you can milk more money. You have no shame do you?
Then after the movie is released you will release them again in ANOTHER box-set which this time includes the new Indiana Jones films as well. Very, Very clever.

Since these aren't Blu-ray releases, who cares? This is the Blu-ray forum, after all, and the BDs are the only versions most people here would be interested in.

By the way, there's two BD versions of Batman Begins coming out, in addition to yet another SD DVD release (that makes three to date, I think). And yet, somehow, only Lucas gets criticized for playing that game.

I dont really see the problem. You can buy the movies separate before the new one is in the theater, and then later they rae available in a box. Whats the problem? Either way you can get all 4 on dvd.

Exactly. What some of the whiners don't realize is the fact that these companies are in the business to make money. Unfortunately, in most markets the specialty retailers are few and far between. The big box brick and mortar retailers are the only venue in which to sell product. Their space is limited and the only way to reach most consumers is shelf exposure. These rereleases are nothing but the desire to get that shelf exposure back if for only a few more weeks. It isn't any different than Tide detergent coming out with a dozen different versions of the same damn product that does the same damn thing: clean clothes. It is marketing. Get used to it.

Will there be a re-release of the prior movies? If so, anything new? If not, don't get all pissy about it.

I happen to catch that episode. I also happen to catch ET where all the agents were carrying radios. I was like.... didn't all those guys have guns?

What are they carrying in the blu-ray version? If radios I don't want it. This stupid PC bullcrap is DESTROYING cinema. Why must talented directors also be bleeding hearts?

You can't mix religion and politics.

They're carrying nothing, since it's not out on BD.

What does religion have to do with it? In fact, what does politics have to do with it? Spielberg redid those scenes out of a sense of social responsibility, nothing more. And, from what I've been told, he's since regretted doing so.

Um, you do remember how the first version came out in boxset-only, and forced you to buy "Temple of Doom" and "Last Crusade" if you only wanted "Raiders"?
Some of us have been waiting three years to buy "Raiders" separately, as nature intended, don't spoil it now.

(But, as Paramount didn't declare their loyalty in time to get the Blu-ray versions out, looks like I'll have to wait a little longer.)

Congratulations, you've earned the coveted 'Internet Crybaby Pee Pants' award.

Not everyone owns the current releases and not everyone likes all three movies. This also gets them back in smaller stores that no longer carries the boxset. Especially when the movies are going to attract a whole new generation, with all the toys for the films coming out also. Also, have you considered that some people may have a scratched copy of one of the films, and not want to re-buy the whole set. Plus it's only logical to release them on DVD to coincide with the new movie. And hopefully we'll get a Blu-Ray boxset of all four this Christmas. It's not like someone is putting a gun (or a walkie talkie) to your head and making you buy them. Jesus wept, movies get double dipped all the time. Stop crying about it and don't buy it if you don't want it.

hello, they all want to make money dude!! do you think they are in business to lose money? no!! besides these movies are pretty much speilberg releases, not so much lucas. I know lucas was apart of them also, so why not harp on speileberg as well?
