Seeing as Canada doesn't have many deals on blu rays (and that is a MAJOR understatement) we are somewhat forced to "give in" and spend more than our american counterparts
where do you guys get your "fix"? do you buy from retail in canada or import from the states somehow? i mainly buy from best buy or hmv and have almost given up on "finding deals" online because every one i have encountered "doesnt ship to canada" how about everyone else? |

I buy most of my Blue Rays from Movies 4 Sale its local and at $15.00 a movie you can't beat the prices. They buy used but most are still wrapped in plastic with the security tags underneath. I buy at Target when its something I have to have right away. $30.00 dollars is hard to swallow. 41 Blue Rays so far and 21 PS3 games. 40 inch Sony Bravia, 43 inch Panasonic Projection LCD, 2 PS3 60gs, Onkyo receiver, JVC receiver.

I live in Lawton, Ok, and let me tell you, the pickings are slim for Blu-ray around here. In fact, ever since the announcement that Blu-ray won the format war, it appears the local stores are scaling way back in their Blu-ray efforts.
Sam's Club first reduced their stock from about 12 shelves to about 5. Then they only displayed empty boxes you had to take up front to pay for THEN you get your movie. Finally, this past week they have REMOVED all Blu-rays and HD-DVDs. Wal-Mart isn't much better. The new Wal-Mart has the movies out on display, but the pickins are slim. The older Wal-Mart has the movies locked up and it takes an act of Congress to get someone to unlock the displays. The best place in town to get Blu-rays is Hastings. But they charge top dollar on most of their titles. We also have an F.Y.E. but forget about that place, they charge an arm and a leg for Blu-rays (like actually charging $39.99 for a movie!). I try to support my local stores when I can (like the great deal I got on Blade-Runner), but most of the time they charge just too darn much and I know I can always save 30% or more on Amazon. |
