Default ps3 reset from HDMI back to normal video cables question

Quick question about connecting my PS3 to the tv. I had the PS3 hooked up to a friend's HDTV via HDMI the other night, but now I'm trying to connect it to my tv with the regular cable, but I'm not seeing anything anymore. Would it because the settings are still set for HDTV, and if so, how do I get it back to normal? I've only had the ps3 for a couple of days, and still trying to figure out everything. Thanks!

If you set it up with the HDMI in mind, then you'll probably have to take it back to your friend's place, hook it up, and then go to system settings and restore default settings. Then you can take it home.

I figured it out... if the 'on' button is held for 5 seconds when turning it on, the video goes to the default settings. I just thought it would automatically detect the tv is connected to... thanks though...

That's it. You just need to turn off the ps3 and hold the I/0 switch until it beeps a second time and it will be reseted to default screen settings.

Holding the power button on the PS3 resets the display settings? Is this the reason why my setting reset? Because every now and then it happens and I thought it was defect but now I am thinking that it is because I might have held the power button accidentally for more than 5 seconds.

Yep. To turn it on, all you need to do is press the PS button on the controller or ANY BUTTON on the Bluetooth remote.
