Default BD-LIVE question

Ok...well since Im upgrading my home theatre left and right...I have a question. I'm looking into buying the Panasonic DMP-BD30K (froma ps3) to get the full advantage of DTS-MA. I have been told it would be better to wait for the BD50 which will be profile 2.0 and have the BD-Live feature. What exactly does the BD-Live feature bring to the table? If it mostly has to do with extra features, would someone who doesn't really watch them, benefit from waiting (and paying more) for the BD50? I just want DTS-MA damnit!

Buy the BD30, BD-Live is basically for on-line content, extras, merchandise, things of that nature. If you're not big into that kind of stuff, then don't waste your money...

BD-Live adds internet connectivity.

I'm not entirely sure what they are going to do with it though. You can probably download movie trailers (no big deal for PS3 owners), access blogs about the movie, participate in polls, maybe have that crap they had in HP:OOTP HD DVD were you can talk to your friends while you watch the movie.

I don't consider 2.0 to be that great.

I would wait a bit. It's been confirmed in the insider section that DTS-MA decoding is coming to PS3. It's also a given that all the BD-Live features will make their way to PS3 as well, along with any future BD format improvements.

I'd recommend waiting a while and using that money to upgrade other portions of your home theater. Looking at your setup, I'd focus on upgrading the speakers. The PS3 will deliver what you want shortly.
