So, I was under the impression that studios were supposed to have this resolved already.
Yes, yes. I know about the download for the Onkyo 805. This isn't my point. When will this nerve shattering gun shot at 125 dbl, speaker terminating glitch be resolved once and for all by the studios? ![]() Last edited by Marcusarilius; 05-20-2008 at 12:26 AM. |

There is no reason for people to keep posting about movies with the DTS "bomb"
and including timestamps for it. All new receivers have the updated dsp's, and everyone "should" know about the update it is simple and easy to do. Hell most people have a ps3 and that will do the update. And if people are on this forum they have a burner to make a disc. ![]() |

if you already know that the problem is with the DSP software, why would you blame the encoders? Since only the DSPs used by Yamaha and Onkyo exhibited this problem, it cannot be a problem with the encoders since the decoding DSPs used by Pioneer and Denon do not exhibit the issue.

Has Yamaha issued a firmware update for their receivers? Or have they swapped out affected hardware?
I've been looking at the Yamaha RX-V1800 as a possible replacement for a 9 year old Yamaha RX-V995 receiver. If Yamaha has done nothing about the issue I may go with something from Denon instead. |

Denon and Pioneer are of better qualty than Onkyo and Yamaha. Yamaha has decreased in quality from what they once were, and Onkyo has always been about giving lots of features at a bargain price. Denon has always been a get what you pay for brand; you'll pay extra, but the sound is silky smooth throughout all ranges and volumes. |
