Default looking for new system

i have a 42 inch sharp 1080p lcd tv and the ps3 ...my current sound system is a 5 disc panasonic 800 watt sound system ..i have my HDMI connected to my tv and the componet cables connected to my reciever, and the sound is very quiet on my ps3 using the cables...when i use my 5 disc changer its way louder...so im thinking i need a new system ?? or how do i get it louder??

do i need a whole new system or just receiver??

my friend was looking on ebay at this divinci system, is that stuff junk??? i never heard of it before??? http://cgi.ebay.com/DiVinci-D-7010-5...QQcmdZViewItem

I'm confused, component cables to the receiver for sound?

One thing to try is turning up the volume on the PS3. hit triangle, then go find the volume icon and bump it up to 2. That will increase the volume output by the PS3 some.

Are you connecting with red/white analog to the receiver? optical? digital?

Doesn't make sense to me why a 3200 dollar system can sell for 200 dollars.. And they have quite a few of them... Doesn't add up...

as for your connection... I would use an optical cable to the receiver from the PS3.. that might give you better results if your receiver doesn't have hdmi.

when you say you have a Panasonic sound system I'm gonna go out on a limb and say its a HTiB system, if its the model I'm thinking of there is no HDMI and you would have to use optical (as stated above) I would go throw an optical cable on there and adjust your settings on the ps3 so the audio output is through the optical port, make sure the receiver is set to the right input and you should get sound...

from the way you're describing it (although rather vague) I am getting that your sound is actually run through the HDMI to the TV, not the HT
