Look at the prices of some of those formats. Should bring a little perspective to a few individuals on other forums.

No doubt. Blu-ray players are a steal by comparison.

I still get people sniveling about how much a BD player costs.
*Maybe*, this will put things in perspective for a few of them.

Thanks for this link Aaron!

LaserDisc will always have a fond place in my heart, for a long time ( before DVD of course) it was the only way to watch letter-box movies.

They forgot the dreaded CD-I systems. Movies came on 3 discs and you had to get up and change the disk twice over the course of the movie. And the choppy pixelated video. Games were just about as good too.

I agree with dragons lair, laserdisc was pretty nice back in its day. A buddy of mine had one a little before DVD came out, and just being able to hook up to a reciever and get decent sound was enough for me.

The article should have been entitled --> "The 9 Video Formats HD DVD will get a glimpse of at the gates of Heaven before being DENIED entry and sent straight to HELL!"

HD DVD will join DIVX DVD in HELL

Blu-Ray the best format in the world, all other formats were bought by little girls

*** Think Borat the movie (closing credits) ***

Poor Sony. They had (have?) such a hard time realizing that people need to be able to afford their great innovations!

out of all formats, I believe CD-I didn't go to heaven. It went straight to Hell. So HD-DVD will not meet CD-I in heaven.

Whats funny is that sony has 3 on the top 10 list lol. I guess when you throw out 100 darts, 1 has to hit eventually.

Still Blu-ray isn't all Sony. I think it's only called Sony Blu-ray because of PS3 Right?

Point taken. But I can't see how DIVX DVD would get in. There was nothing good about that steaming nugget. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around how anybody could have pitched the idea as anything but a practical joke.

You still have some people who defend Divx to their death i think. But can you find anyone who would defend CD-I?
