I'd probly agree with that just like res 2 didnt get re-done for the Resident evil box set...

It may have a new AVC transfer as the AVP-1 trailers on many of the FOX discs were on high bit rate AVC.

Fos is not going to go through the expense of doing a new transfer. Same transfer, same movie...you can bet $1 on that.

It's not the extended version (nothing too special from what I've heard but some people always have to have the extended/director's cut). The Japanese release is the extended version, but it's only available in a box set. I think the German release also is, but it's a HD DVD-crippled encode.

If the movie used a digital intermediate, which it probably have, you will never see another transfert : this is the movie as it is on digital. However, a better encoding might improve things a bit.

Having trouble getting/finding a straight up answer. Amazon says it's an Unrated two disc set--got that, but is the AVP1 Unrated as well? I thought that the blu AVP1 was only theatrical, not director's. I'm hoping this new 2 disc set will include the unreleased blu AVP1 director's cut.

Please help if you know. Also, am I right in understanding the blu AVP1 does NOT include the director's cut, correct.

1 has extended unrated footage, that being said, there is nothing to it, just more of the same, but no "directors cut" per say.

since its 2 pack, i dont have avp yet and im going buy both in a pack. but wondering if disc will be in their invididual case? or both in 1 disc case?

amazon says both discs come in their own respective cases. didn't know about new features for the 1st flick. sounds like the double pack is the way to go then.

Interesting... I loved both movies, course im a fan of avp back from the few avp comics I owned and the avp2 video game.

You should check out the AVP books. There is 3 of them and thry are decent.
