I am surprised that this has not been discussed so here it is - the top 100 list with comments below...

I am surprised that there are already over 100 titles (I guess I should look more often ![]() 9 of the top 10 are BD exclusive titles. The Fifth Element was the second strongest seller, yet was widely criticised for quality. This has a number of implications - to me it says that the title is the most important 'feature' on the disc. Content is key (see the sig! ![]() Anyways, have fun with this... |

It tells me a lot of HD-DVD owners own both formats and picked up the HD-DVD version of a title first. If Blu-ray came out first, I believe there would be more non-exclusive titles in that list.

I don't own a HD-DVD player at the moment but I've thought about it several times. However, after making an investment in the recent Blu-Ray player, I'm not too wild about the idea of having two HD formats at once especially all it'll do is clutter up your entertainment centre. The fact that Blu-Ray has more support from the major studios was the primary reason why I decided to go with a Blu-Ray player instead while only two are currently exclusive on the HD-DVD format. (Universal Studios and The Weinstein Company). It just made more sense to go with BD for now. It's great that we already have over a hundred titles on the format. That's progress. |
