Please quote your site. There is so much mis information flying around you need to be careful how much credibility you give some sites.

HD-DVD royalties will be higher long-term, you really think that MS is going to continue to give the HD DVD studios cut price VC-1.

You know how long it took for DVD players to go below $100.00? Why ask this question now? Sure, someday they will, but not anytime soon.

And, many Chinese makers are notorious for not paying the royalty. Hence the insanely cheap players that has depressed the pricing across the board.

Both BD and HD DVD have significantly higher royalties. They also have a system for shutting down the players from companies that fail to pay their royalties. So, right there, the fixed royalty costs will mean that $100 will be a tough target.

Now, consider the saviour of HD DVD: The universal player. All that will have is extra royalties, and the dual-format engineering. So, cleary they will be cheaper than BD players.

Yes, of course they do. It is just like technology, as a commodity becomes older it decreases in value.
