Default 720p/1080p???

So I just got a Blu-ray drive and its working nicely, the PC is conected to my 24'' Monitor (1920x1200) via DVI and the image is spectacular. But how can I tell if I'am getting 720p or 1080p? There appears to be no setting for it (PowerDVD Ultra). Is there a way? Thanks...

The quickest method I use is the PiP function on my Sony Bravia XBR HDTV. It lists the HD format being displayed above each PiP window, whether the source is 720p, 1080i, 1080p or really just 480p anamorphic.

^ He isn't using HDTV.

If you're using 1920x1200 resolution (which you should) or 1920x1080, then it's 1080p. PowerDVD does up or downscaling for you. If the resolution is lower than that, then I guess it's 720p. So just stick with monitor's native resolution, you'll be fine.

The Resolution of my monitor is 1680x1050,
while the quality of Blu-Ray be diminished at all?
or will it still be very clear?

I expect it will be clear as it could be for your setup. Your graphics card/driver will upscale and map blu-ray (say 1080p) to the native resolution of your monitor (1680x1050) provided that you have set the graphics card/driver correctly. A possibility of PQ issues that I can think of is the potential problems with your graphics card setup and the s/w player configuration.
