onkyo 805 questions

Hey my name is jason and i am an audio addict and I have a few questions. I just bought an 805 and a sony 3500 blue ray player. How should i hook these up together for decoding? I read a forum here named "player decoding or receiver decoding" and i am still confused. Since i will have the audessey set up should i use the receiver for decoding for dolby HD, etc( set bitstream out). Or allow the sony to create the PCM? Also has anyone else here paired the onkyo 805 with Polk rti8's rti4's csi3 and fxi3 (or any of these)? I have been to circuit city and best buy and none of these places have rti's with onkyo. Any help would be great. ALso for any one who is in the market for new speakers the polk RTI8's sound the best for the money 140.00 each.
