Compatibility Issue with Sony Blu-Ray Player - Blu-ray Forum

Hello! I'm a new poster on Blu-Ray.com Forum!
Like many other posters, Descent would not play on my Sony Blu-Ray player.
Someone mentioned three other movies that are questionable. How will I know which movies are compatible with this player before I buy them? When I called Sony support, some guy in India took the call and all he could tell me (over and over I might add) was that Sony only supports BD-R and BD-RW discs. (He didn't know about the issue with the Descent disc not playing, and was obviously reading to me from a manual.) No where on the other Blu-Ray cases that I have does it mention anything about BD-R and BD-RW. And since the incompatibility issue doesn't seem to be limited to Lionsgate, there must be some other reason why these four movies won't play! Help!!
