My local blockbuster has 2001 space odessey for $23.99 and Pans Labrynth for $27.99 cdn wich I think is a good price for a blu ray disc but how do they look on blu is it worth to pick up.
They also have black hawk down for $27.99 but I hear mixed things about that movie same as Hellboy wich is also $27.99. |

for an old film 2001 is absolutely Jaw dropping. Black hawk down has awesome PQ as well and the Audio is one of the absolute best of all blu rays.. Hellboy is another great looking and phenomenal sound BD. Pans labyrinth is amazing as well. New line sure knows how to realize good looking titles. The only thing that is a negative in this release is New Line did use some DNR on the picture. But other than that a fantastic looking/sound disc. You can't really go wrong with any of the 4 really. |

In my opinion all of those are excellent packages from a movie, SQ and PQ perspective. However I would baulk at paying anywhere near those prices for them.
Hellboy and BHD are both $15, 2001 is $19 and Pan's is $25 on Amazon. Throw in the chance of a sale and you could save yourself money and pick up another disc or two. Cheers! QM Last edited by quirkmanly; 03-26-2008 at 11:32 PM. |

All 4 look great. Black Hawk Down was one of the main titles for quite a while. It looks great and it sounds great. Hellboy also has one of my favorite hi-def scenes (near the beginning when it's raining and everything has a cool blue/grey tint -- looks really nice). Anyway, I'm really happy with all 4 of those titles.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that they're the 4 best, but they do look great and if you're happy with the price than go for it. Can't you buy these used from someone in the states for cheap and have them mail them as a gift? Would that cut the duty fees?

Can't you import it from the US? Whith the Cad being stronger than the USD you should be able to get it for under 30cad including shipping.

But if I were you, I'd order from amazon.com (Standard International Shipping) and if possible wait for a BOGO sale. |
