Question on PS3 Warranty

I searched the posts in this forum and even though there's plenty of questions no one seems to answer them. So I'm gonna ask it again. Has anyone heard if its possible to buy an extended warranty from Sony for a PS3 that it is still in-warranty coverage?

My PS3 died and it made me wonder if I should buy it (if I can) because who guarantees me that the Blu-ray drive won't fail again?

Well beyond Sony's warrenty if you got it at a retailer exp. Best Buy, Target, Frys those stores do have other warrenties. Sony may have extended warrenty but i am not sure. If they do it might be cheaper to have Sony fix it. The PS3 has a 1%> failure rate so you were unlucky. But call Sony and ask

I bought my ps3 last week from sony-style, not sure if that is whom you are looking for. I browsed all of the site for extended warranty info and I finally found it somewhere that sony style has extended warranties for every playstation unit except for PS3. I find this to be crazy, so I will give them a call this weekend & see.

I freakin hope that my ps3 doesn't crash like my 360's.

I'm pretty sure that once you're out of the return policy for a vendor, you can't apply for a warranty. if you bought it on a credit card, you might have an extra year warranty under visa/mc/amex/etc...

i got mine 2 weeks ago from this website www.newegg.com they shipped me the 80 gig ps3...with motorstorm and a extra controller.. they give a warranty...they replace your ps3 if it breaks for either 1 or 2 years....Good site tho someone recommended it to me...and i got good quality.
