I have a Harmony 550 that I got on a great deal at Amazon. But lately, I've been having some problems. I have a Samsung TV (LN-T3242H), which has a significant delay in switching in and out of HDMI channels, especially when is booting up. I have my DVD player on HDMI 2, my PS3 on HDMI 1, and my Zune on AV2.
My activities are, Watch a DVD, PS3, Watch TV, and Zune. Most of the time I leave my TV on HDMI 1, but every once in awhile, I want to watch TV or listen to some music, or *gulp* watch a DVD on my Toshiba upconverting player. I'll leave turn the TV off in HDMI 1. But when I want to do any of those other activities, it doesn't turn the TV to the right channel, and I pretty much have to press the "help" button everytime, which gets annoying. My question is this, how should I put the settings for the delay? I called Customer support for Logitech and the guy was able to help me some, should I call them back? Or is this a Samsung problem where I need to call their customer support and get an update? Any advise is welcome. |

I've had the 659 for almost 3 years, and have noticed some quirks like this. I have to go around the block, figuratively, to avoid these issues. One idea is to just always turn on the tv the same way by always using one macro, then hitting the other macro once everything is up and running. You hit the "PS3" button, let things get up and running, and then hit "watch tv" or "listen to music". This way you aren't asking the tv to change inputs while its turning on. I'm not sure there is a way to adjust for a delay. Harmony should be aware of this, but I've never seen that adjustment in their software.

Under the "devices" tab on the main screen, you select the device you want to change, and click 'settings". Then you select the "adjust delays(speed settings)" and change the input delays to what you need. For my Sharp TV, the delays were around 10,000ms. That would then change the input channel from one to another. It's going to take time to set it to where it needs to be, but that should put you on the right track.
Another option, and one that's easier IMO, is to go to the main page, under "Activities", and choose one of the options, like "Watch TV". Click the "customize buttons" menu, and then select the "additional buttons" tab. Those are the 4 buttons by the screen on the remote. Name one whatever you want, like "TV INPUT" in the first window, name the device, "TV" in the dropdown menu of the second button, and in the third window, select the "InputNext" choice in the 3rd window. Then, upload the remote, and for all activities, the same button will allow you to change inputs on the TV, so that you can switch from one to the next.
