Default Blu-ray PC Issues

Hey folks. Its nice to be a part of the blu-ray world... Watched one Blu-Ray and decided I want to stay, but I am having trouble with that part. The first (and only) Blu-ray that I could run on my PC was "The Departed." It worked without a hitch, but since then, I have had absolutely no luck with any other Blu-ray.

I've tried a handful of things like emulating the Blu-Ray by making an ISO of it. Using this method, I can get an ISO for all my movies (except SWAT) on my harddrive and successfully mount them. Again, The Departed is the only one that works.

Because "The Departed" plays, I temped to say that the software is the problem, not the hardware... But just incase, this is what I am currently running.

Processor: Intel Q6600
Mobo: EVGA nVidia nForce 780i 132-CK-NF78-A1
GPU: MSI 8800 Ultra (660 MHz core clock, 2300 MHz memory clock)
Ram: 2GB DDR2 667
HDD: 2x Western Digital 260GB in RAID 0, 1x Western Digital 500GB, 1x Western Digital 750GB
BD Drive: Lite-On DH-4O1S-08 (With newest firmware)
Display: Hanns*G 28" HD LCD (Native to 1920x1200)

I do a lot of research on PC components, so Im fairly certain what I have should run Blu-Ray without a hitch... Given that I just installed the latest PowerDVD and nVidia drivers, what do you think I should do next to get all this working properly?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Is it the full version of PowerDVD Ultra or the version that came with your drive?

What exactly do you mean by it doesn't play??? Do you get an error? Does the video stutter? Do you hear audio but no video?? What exactly goes on when you put a blu ray disc in, or mount the image. How did you create the ISO image? Did you also use Anydvd HD??

I originally used the version of PowerDVD that came with my drive... That did not work with any movie so, in desperation after reading here, I bought PowerDVD Ultra. After that didnt work, I tried the trial version of Arcsoft Total Media Theatre with no luck.

Movies that I can play:
The Departed

Movies that I cannot play:
3:10 to Yuma
300
SWAT
Man on Fire

3:10 to Yuma and 300, when played, make PowerDVD Ultra prompt me to update my software... I say thats okay and then it loops back to asking for an update. I got the newest version 3 days ago, so yeah.

When I mount the image or put the Blu Ray in the drive, PowerDVD Ultra starts up. The Departed plays fine... 3:10 to Yuma and 300 ask for an update. Man on Fire says there is no disk in the drive. (all after PowerDVD starts up). SWAT just makes my comuter lag, never could rip it to an ISO or even play it. I know my drive sees data for the first four because MagicISO was able to rip ISO's form them (and, when mounted, they do the same thing as the originals).

I run the normal AnyDVD, not AnyDVD HD. I was getting tired of buying software given that even the stock stuff didnt work. I know AnyDVD allows me to skip menus on DVD's, I figured for $30, I could sit through them on the Blu Ray movies.

I hope the new information helps a bit... I also hope its as simple as upgrading my version of AnyDVD

PowerDVD Ultra and 3:10 to Yuma don't mix. Have a look on the Slysoft forums see if they can help. They are very informative on how to get PowerDVD to play unplayable disks.

I've found that sometimes you can rip a disk that doesn't play in PowerDVD Ultra to your hard drive (using anydvd hd), then create an ISO of it (using imgburn), then mount it (using demontools) and...... it plays in PowerDVD Ultra

I'm not saying it will work with every disk that doesn't play but it worked with Spiderman 3 for me!
