Default Saw both Valkyrie and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

So I was able to get into pre-screenings for both Valkyrie and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in the last few days.

CCOBB was one of the best movies I have ever seen. Really touching, witty, original, intriguing and there was just always something happening. No boring moments. In my opinion the best flick by Brad Pit (even better than Fight Club I dare say?). Rival of TDK for 2008s best movie in my humble opinion. 10/10 for me.

Valkryie... decent. Not awesome, not horrible. Very slow beginning and Tom Cruise could have easily just not been in the movie if you fixed the script up, haha. He had zero influence on the movie while the supporting crew outshone him a thousandfold. It really picked up about half way through and kept you on the edge of your seat. 6/10 for me.

I know this is only my opinion of them and I wouldn't normally make a post about what I personally thought of a movie but these are two really anticipated flicks that I know people might want some insight into. My style of movies is usually things like Pulp Fiction, Usual Suspects, Memento, Goodfellas, Casino, Sin City, HEAT, etc etc, so if you have my taste maybe that'll help decide if its worth paying to see in the theatre!

I think I liked Valkyrie better than Benjamin Button, but I still loved both.

I was interested in both of these movies, especially Curious Case. I still have faith in Bryan Singer because of the tension he built in both Usual Suspects and Apt Pupil so I thought he would do well with Valkyrie.

I really like all the movies you listed

I can't comment on CCOBB as my pre-screening happens tonight, but I've seen Valkryie and have to agree, but only somewhat. I thought it was just an okay film that would do much better at the box office if it had either an earlier release date or a later one...anything but on Christmas day. I found the pacing of the entire film to be slow and none of the acting in the film stood out as being great. While the ending picked up a little bit, it wasn't nearly enough to keep the audience engaged in the film. Don't get me wrong, the movie was good...it's just not something I think the masses will flock out to go see on Christmas day (especially seeing how the story ends historically as well as in this film). Just kind of a downer of a film to be watching on Christmas in my opinion, but then again a lot of people went out to see Titanic sink on the holiday when it came out.

I'm really excited to see Benjamin Button. December is going to be a good month for movies (note: THE WRESTLER).

I believe that I am going to see Valkyrie, Benjamin Button, and The Spirit this holiday season. All seem interesting to me and worth a viewing.

If I recall, TITANIC opened on Friday, Dec. 19, 1997 - I remember it like it almost yesterday. And that was Viewing # 1 of a few times I went...

Ugh... I was planning to go watch Valkyrie, but now that I know it's Bryan Singer that directed the movie, nevermind! It's probably really slow and has little to no action like X-Men 1, 2 and Superman Returns. BORING!

thanks for the impressions Zack. I'm quite pleased with your comments on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, I wasn't actually anticipating it, but I have been thinking about seeing it once it's out over here. I'll definitely go see it now...

Valkryie, meh. Don't really like the setting, plot outline and some of the cast. Not sure if I'll bother with this one at all still.

I loved Benjamin Button, it kept me emotionally involved the whole way through, and I thought it was a very well acted movie.

Highly recommended!

CCOBB was different. I think many will agree on that. I'm sure it will get a nod for Cinematography and Art Direction. Some of the scenes were just mesmorising. Can't wait to see it on blu. Probably won't get it until summer though lol.

Saw both of them myself.

CCOBB was excellent but it did feel long. I don't mind movies being 6 hours long but this one felt long. Don't get me wrong it's one of the top movies of this year easily. I just don't know how many times I would want to re-watch it.

The effects work is top notch and Brad Pitt does give a great low key performance. His character is like watching a smarter more insightful Forest Gump.

This is simply a full look at a persons life.Who happens to be living it backwards.

Valkrie was actually a good film and worth seeing. It's not the turd it was made out to be. Good tension and good acting by everyone in the movie.

I had plans to go to see either of these movies today. However, I received a call from a friend telling me that the mall where the Cinemark is located was sold out. My friend was waiting 15 minutes to get passed one street light.

I may try again tomorrow.

Both show I went too (CCOBB and Valkrie) was jammed packed. Just a few seats here and there spread out through the theater.

Is The Wrestler still coming out this month? I have a feeling I won't get it until January. That's the one I want to see. I really hate Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, especially that vampire movie they made together. Damn that sucked. Not sure I could sit through these as they sound long and boring.

Valkyrie was so damn boring. The first half almost put me to sleep but as soon as the second part came I started to get interested, but then it slowed down again...
