Default Blizzard of '08

Well, she's waning away now, and she was not quite as intense as the one of March, '07, but lasted longer. Never in my life, even at the ocean, have I seen surf as big as what I saw on Lake Superior this morning. I've only lived here 4 years. My wife laughed at me. She took a ferry ride in Korea during a typhoon, once. Irrespective, I left for work this morning in a near white out. I would have made it, except for the down utility wire on the road where I turned around and came back. One of my partners had already suggested I stay home, since all of the clinics were closed, anyway, so I only felt a little guilty. It made for a boring day. The power went out around 10 am. We have battery backup connected to a solar electric system, so we had lights, water and septic, but we turned everything off, anyway, since we wanted to watch movies tonight. We've never gone on backup, since we had the system installed, so we don't know how long we can live on it, and it's supposed to be cloudy again tomorrow. So we had no televsion, movies, internet until 4:30 when the power came back. All in all, I would have rather gone to work. This weather is the pits. Since winter began, we've had only a handful of days that were not below normal temperatures, and here it is mid-April and it's snowing like mad. Global Warming my arse.
