Default What to buy for splitting laptop screen to 2 additional monitor

Hello,

I need your help...

I have a laptop, but I want to daisy chain to more 2 monitors.

Currently, I attached the vga cable monitor to 1 of the monitor (giving me two monitors - laptop screen and LCD monitor).

However, I want to add an additional LCD monitor to the picture (giving me 3 monitors setup - laptop screen and 2 LCD monitor).

What do I need to buy to allow this option?

Does this 2-Port VGA Video Splitter work? or do I need a 4 Port VGA Splitter?

http://www.amazon.com/Aluratek-AVS02...4528693&sr=1-6

Thanks in advance,

What you posted will work fine for getting 3 total displays (Laptop +2 LCD's)

should be noted that the 2 lcd's not the laptop screen would have the same image on them it will not work like a multimonitor solution that allows different content on each screen. it is possible that depending on your laptop that you may actually end up with 3 monitors all showing the same content (usually listed as clone my display option). What are your actuall goal that you want to accomplish?

Thanks,
T

Oh no, I don't want to have the same image for the other 2 LCD monitors.

Basically, I'm hoping to be able to use the other 2 LCDs to add different applications to work as an extension with because one monitor from the laptop is not efficient enough. I want to be able to extend the other 2 LCDs so that I can use them.

Does that make sense at all? I want a multi-monitor solution from the laptop.

Maybe I need to get something like this?

Thanks,

the new link posted looks more like what you need its basically a vidoe card over usb. i think if you actively watch content like blu or dvd you will want to watch those on the primary lt display or the one you connect to the vga port on the computer and not necessarily over the usb display because of bandwidth limitations of usb. also be carefull as it states only vga monitor will be supported you may need to ensure your monitor has a native vga port not a dvi/displayport/hdmi with converter or verify with the manufacturer that an adapted monitor will work.

hope that helps

Thanks,
"Daisy chain" made me think you wanted the same image on all 3 not that you wanted an extended desktop.

sorry about that...

Does anyone have any recommendation on a product to buy that will extend the laptop monitor to 2 additional LCD monitors?

Depending on the type of laptop you have there may be a dock for it. Most docks have more than one video output. If it has a vga and dvi then you can use three screens in extended desktop mode.

Thanks! It's a Dell laptop for work. They didn't give me a docking station. I found out that the back has a displayport. So, I guess I can buy a displayport to DVI since the monitor has a DVI port.

Thanks everyone! I hope this works.

edit: i found out that the video card doesn't support it..oh well...back to square one and buy the usb to vga solution.

Try googling the Dell model number plus dock and see what display options are available.....Might be pleasantly surprised!
