Default Receiver audio question

Should all receivers be able to handle audio at 96kHz/24-bit and higher through PCM? I have been hunting for a bargain receiver under $900 and am having trouble deciding between Pioneer Elite 92TXH, Denon AVR2808CI, and Sony's STR-DA4300ES/3300ES. I'm tempted to get the 3300ES because I have no need to decode TrueHD or DTSHDMA, but I still want a deck that has good upscaling and good audio reproduction. Any personal reviews/ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
