Default Darks are really, really dark...help...

So, I have been waiting for ever for AVP2 and I finally got it and put it in...The frustration level of not being able to see anything is driving me crazy. I do not have this problem with any other movie (BD or HD) that I have bought. The dark parts are black-If I had not watched this movie in theatres I would have no idea what is happening in certain parts. Is this a common problem and how, if I can, do I fix it? Please help cause this is pissing me off.

yes it is. As the one review stated-I do not recall any other movie being this dark, but I guess that was Fox's M.O.

Honestly can not remember those. Example-The cool sewer fight/scene, couldn't tell what was going on- it was really dark. I'm still going to say this movie is B.A, cause it is!

uh, dark.
speaking of dark-maybe not the greatest movie for your pregnant wife to see-eh, alien/predator hybrid face sucking pregnant woman, etc. My wife (8 months pregnant) isn't caring much for it. hehe

OK-well knowing it's suppose to be dark comforts me a bit. Gotta go-it's getting pretty close to the final show down. Suck on it Aliens!

good lord how dark can it be? This could be a whole new thread. World trade center was pretty dark but the clarity is amazing.

So, not a chick flick as the previews intimated?

This must be the darkest movie I have seen yet. It gave my Kuro a real workout. I just paused in the sewer scene and took a pic for you guys:

Yup, as you can see the black bars are as dark as some parts of the scene itself.
