Default Metal Fans: New Compression Album Available

Compression is a very experimental metal band from Baltimore, MD. Many, many years ago (1998, I believe) they put out a self titled album that was way ahead of its time. I saw these guys as Phantasmagoria way back when, and it was an experience I'll never forget. I picked up their CD there, and it is litteraly one of my favorite albums of all time. The production is spot on and the sound is unique.

Anyway, they're follow-up album, "Battle of the Ants" was supposed to drop in 2002. That never happened. They pretty much disappeared off the face of the earth. I would check every once in a while to see if they had surfaced. I even emailed the producer of the album, who had no idea where they went. So I was surprised, to say the least, when a MySpace page popped up.

So last week, the album finally dropped. As much as I hate MySpace, their actual website hasn't been updated since 2002:

Check them out.
