just a quirk i noticed while playing cod4, it kept on melee'ing instead of focusing on my target.

ie
i want to press L1, and i DO, but it also melee's at the same time, which can be frustrating.

it happens quite sometimes, but its a quirk.

I don't see why they couldn't update it. Everything's eventual, so they say. I'd check in with the people at Sony, maybe complain about it.

Its not up to Sony any more, they gave us the rumble controller. It is now up to the game developers to put the code in their games that allow rumble via a game update.

Army of Two should have support straight off the Blu-ray Disc, it came out more than late enough.

@ Those Asking About Rumble: As I’ve said, there are no plans to add rumble to CoD4 PS3, the Rumble tech / support for the PS3 came way to late in Call of Duty 4 to be implemented, we’re almost half a year out since launch and it would require a major code overhaul to add that sort of feature in now.

I doubt they'd need to recode the game to add rumble.

It's probably not nearly as difficult as they are making it out to be. After all, as others have said, much older games did it with no problems, COD4 came out recent enough that they had to have known the rumble feature was on its way. Infinity Ward has demonstrated repeatedly that to them, the PS3 is an afterthought. This is no different.

I think resistance built alot of infrastructure, that alot of games even now really do not even try to create.

Im sensing the folks at insomniac work smarter not harder.
