Default Mr Magorium Wonder

I just picked this up for my kid - a bit pricey at 29.99 but she really wants to see it.

Can anyone tell me if it is anygood? Kid wise or aduly wise. I figure it will look good since the movie looks colorful.

Guess I will see tonight

Brought my kid to see it in the theater. Kid seemed to think it was okay, but I hated it to death. My wife thought I was being a prude, but man, what a stinker it was.

I thought it was great, actually.

I'm pretty open to any type of movie if they do it right (romance, classics, westerns, action, dramas, comedy, horror, sci-fi, etc.). For what it was aiming for, I think this movie did a pretty good job -- they could have fleshed out characters a bit more, but otherwise I really enjoyed it. I think the movie deserved to be longer, honestly -- there was enough potential good content that they could have used another 20-25 minutes worth of footage in there to flesh things out a bit.

I watched it, expecting to fall asleep. (I was watching it on a red-eye flight to Hawaii earlier in February)

Actually, the opposite happened. I was very intrigued thoughout the whole film. Granted it is a childs movie and should be treated as such but I can guarantee you, the message in the movie is good enough for, at least me, to purchase.

I just picked it up as a blind buy. It reminds me of "Toys" with Robin Williams, one of my favorite holiday pictures. I've heard it's one of those type of pictures... you either give in to it or you don't.

The movie had a very interesting premise but didn't go far with it. It could've been pushed further.

I enjoyed The Spiderwick Chronicles more and that one has a replayability factor.

Enough said.

Having just popped the disc in and looked around a bit... I can't seem to find the advertised features from the release announcement anywhere on the disc.

It looks completely bare-bones outside of 4 dated trailers. The announcement on various sites claimed a decent amount of special features (4 part doc and a few featurettes, all in HD)... I was planning on watching them actually.

This is getting pretty absurd... to the point where I might end up holding out of any more fox releases :/ These $28-35 dollar (depending on where you get them) releases are getting old, especially when they have nothing else on them (and even worse when they announced special features that for some reason aren't on the disc). Special features aren't the end of the world to me, but sometimes they add a decent amount of value to the movie when you don't feel necessarily like watching the movie, but would like to reminisce about it.

If I could return it and get the SD DVD, I might be tempted to. Save 10 dollars for a movie for my GF and be able to actually watch some of the stuff I originally picked up the disc for :/

For any fox people reading these threads: This is simply getting ridiculous and I, for one, am reaching my limit. PQ/AQ are usually top notch, but there's no excuse for bare bones releases like you guys put out, especially in this case. If nothing else, at least put the SD features on there.

I cannot fathom anyone picking this movie up anyways. I certainly would not even waste money to rent it, let alone purchase the Blu-ray. Poor Dustin Hoffman. Give me Rain Man and Outbreak before this bottom-of-the-barrel fodder.
