Sound card coax cable - Blu-ray Forum

Ok this is probably a stupid question.

But is this the right cable for this sound card?

X-FI Xtreme Gamer 24BIT Sound Card 7.1 PCI

12ft Coaxial Audio/Video RCA Cable M/M RG59U 75ohm (for S/PDIF, Digital Coax, Subwoofer + Composite Video)

Cause I can't seem to get it to work...

Cause I can't seem to get it to work...

coax cable is like optical. it carries the digital sound of dd and dts. what you want is analog cable. im not sure but i think the cable for the sound cards are a different size too

No actually I want digital, I'm already using the tri-coloured connectors for analog.

I want to use the spare connector to hook up to another speaker system.

I'm just confused as to what cable I need.

cant be done with that sound card you need something the can handle spdif or toslink to out put to a reciever

According to here http://us.creative.com/products/prod...ct=15853&nav=1 it has a Optical Out* (shared 3.5mm FlexiJack) . You would need something like this http://us.creative.com/products/prod...&WT.mc_id=3862 to connect to the optical in on your amp.

What you have at the moment in a digital coax cable which is for analog digital signals and isn't supported on that soundcard.
