Default Games for Kids

Could someone recommend some games that my 6 year old daughter would like? I would especially like to know if there are any cheaper downloadable games. I downloaded the PS1 game crash bandicoot, but even that game ended up too dificult for her after the first level. She needs something simple, but addicting.

Thanks

Tim

Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga
Ratchet & Clank: Future (may need some help on the bosses, but it's great for just running around)
PAIN (downloadable) (contains some suggestive language, but my 6-year-old loves it)

The LEGO Star Wars game is great. My son beat it the first time when he was 4. She should be able to easily handle it. Good gameplay, and impossible to die. Can't beat it.

Crash Bandicoot actually has a surprisingly steep learning curve.

Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction is very, very forgiving on Easy mode if you want to spring for a disc game (and hey, it's pretty fun for the adults too on the harder difficulties).

flOw is the sort of game anyone can play, though it's more of a short burst Zen experience than a game.

Loco Roco Coccoreccho! is relatively simple (though hard to get all 200 Rocos... but I doubt your daughter is going to need/want to do so), and the infectious music and adorable creatures is always a hit with kids.

Piyotama is one of the least expensive games on PSN. It's a Tetris-like spinoff with easier gameplay and cute graphics/audio. This is probably my best recommendation.

Games don't get much easier than Super Stardust HD. And that one is loads of fun. Calling All Cars is also loads of fun.

I downloaded the demo of R & C, and it seemed very difficult for a child. With having to switch weapons, and learning special button combinations to get more power out of weapons, this would be above her head rather quickly. Now since this was the demo, I didn't see an option for Easy mode. Can you tell me exactly how much simpler it is on easy mode?

Thanks

Tim

See if you can find some of the old arcade classic series, such as namco museum or The best of activision.

Those old Atari titles are probably how we all cut our teeth in gaming and they developed all of our hand/ eye so that we can play the games of today.

Toy Home
Basically you control a toy car, you actually turn the controller to turn the car, r2 goes forward.. my buddy's kid really liked that and he was only 3 I believe.

Super Rub a dub
You use the six axis to control a tub causing the duck to move the concept is to collect all the ducklings.

Both of these have a demo in which you can see for yourself if they are appropriate.

I actually think Rock Band is a great game for kids. It's super fun, and on easy, it's something little kids can pick up pretty easily. If you're a parent concerned about lyrics, most of the songs I think are fine, but... to each his own.

Ask your mother.
Seriously though, Locoroco has my 6 year old brother sit in a trance for DAYS on end. I think the language Sony invented is a test-run for mind control...
