Personally I never cared for Pioneer's audio room correction suite. Plenty of users here own Pioneer receivers and enjoy them.
I think you may find that you will enjoy Dirac room audio correction suite. I would be remiss not to mention that there is a ongoing thread at AVS discussing the possible incorrect implementation of Dirac. http://www.avsforum.com/forum/90-rec...avr-550-a.html Despite the possible short comings I would prefer Dirac over MCACC any day. Edit: Some shops will let you do an in home demo. You should try to listen to them both in your home with your current speakers and see which one you like the best. After all the only thing that matters is if YOU like it. Last edited by onyxbfly; 05-26-2017 at 10:11 PM. Reason: forgot to mention.... |

First off, I'm not here to say anything bad at all about Pioneer's Elite AVR's. What I will say is that you will hear an audible difference between these two model's. ARCAM put's a lot of engineering in their audio. The Big 5 AVR companies, Marantz, Denon, Yamaha, Pioneer, Onkyo all make great AVR's which sound wonderfull, but companies like ARCAM and ANTHEM instill's all of their effort's in Audio/Quality, period. The Room Correction Tool's used by ARCAM is at it's best along with the supreme DAC's they use. No matter which ARCAM model you choose, they are not cheap. The 390 model may only put out 75/80 watt's with 2 channel's driven in 8ohm's, but it will be breathtaking audio. You can add an external amp if you decide on more power, but you simply can not go wrong with an ARCAM AVR, then you can call yourself an audiophile. Once again Pioneer's Elite model's are great, but in order too compare these two model's in audio quality together, I personally think you would have too move up too a little better Elite model, and ARCAM will still win. Just my two cent's worth.
