Default Leaving to join the Australian Army

Just like to say a big thanks to everone on these forums for hours of enjoyment reading your funny/informative/sarcastic/debunking/calm posts. Unfortunately I have been busy recently, as I'm sure you can understand. Thanks for helping me out when I had questions. (Did I ask questions?)

For those of you interested I'm going to be training as light infantry (rifleman). My training will take 80 + 72 days during which time I will have little to no time for 'recreation'. Which is the reason I'm saying goodbye (for now).

The best part of all of this... ...I will have a job and be able to regularly buy Blu-ray movies! YAY!

If you want me to read your replies note this, I'm leaving on the morning of the 6th of March.

JB

Best of luck to you. Hopefully, Universal will have gone neutral by the time you get back But as a veteran myself, I can tell you that Blu-Ray is going to be the furthest thing from your mind during training! Be safe.

Good luck, I hope you don't end up in Iraq, unless of course that is why you joined.

It least you'll be on the continent that has already pretty much written off MS-DVD. Have fun the army and be safe.

Have fun Hehehehe. You don't know what you are in for!! I have a good idea what you are in for, having done officer training in the reserves - Enjoy. You will get on fine if you try and hide in the middle. Aim to come 10 - 20th in everything. Make sure you understand what you are doing, if not ask. Hint once finished basic training change your choice, head for RAE, RAEME or Transport as fast as your little legs can carry you. If you end up in the Parra's let me know, I'm good friends with one of the senior instructors there (no I don't recommend going there).

...and if you don't like it, wear your underpants on your head and stick a couple of pencils up your nostrils and pretend that you have gone barmy.

Regardless, stay safe

Good luck in the Army. It's a really good this that you are not in the U.S army. Anyways, be safe and we'll see you back here when your training is done.

I want to at least get a deployment where I can do something other than sitting around all day waiting to be shelled.

Thank-you all!
