X-Men Trilogy broken plastic - Blu-ray Forum

I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem. In the trilogy pack, the second and third movie's plastic, clicky thing -- the piece that keeps the bottom portion of the door open -- has been broken into several pieces. I bought the pack sealed. It's not so much worrisome as it is annoying since everything operates fine, it just doesn't close properly. I'm sure I could get two Blu-ray cases fairly cheaply anyway, right?

Where did you buy it and did you keep the receipt? Usually when I buy something with a busted case like that I can return it to the store I got it at and exchange it for a new copy. Your problem is actually why I usually shake movies before I buy them.

Just take it back. They shouldn't give you a problem.

It happens alot with 3-disc releases in the slim case. The holders for the flip tray are extremely fragile. I've encountered several broken ones here and there.

I just returned Star Trek Season 1 for the same reason. The clerk said, "for $60 I don't blame you..." So, just return it. NEVER throw out a receipt. It really helps when a price match or replacement is needed.

That's why I bought them all in singles....plus each single blu-ray had a coupon for 3 FOX summer movies...you buy the trilogy you get one coupon only....and the place in Canada I bought them were only 14.99 each, which saved 7$ off the set

I bought the trilogy at HMV in dowtown Toronto. I usually shake all my purchases too but forgot this time (it's really beneficial because sometimes the disc slides off it's holder thing, which usally resorts in scratches). I'm glad two see at least two other cases of the three Blu-rays = possible broken hinges problem. It sucks, but at least I'm not alone. :P

I took your guys' advice and got it exchanged. The clerk didn't even check to see if I had used the code to get the $10 movie coupon and the three digital copies -- which I didn't, and wouldn't anyway since I'm nice.

As the for $14.99 deals, I can't see to find where that that is avilable. Either way, too late now. That was an awesome idea, though. Thanks for all the replies.

I bought the trilogy from Best Buy and there was a piece that broke off from somewhere. Don't know where exactly, but a piece did break off, despite the packaging being perfect upon inspection.

Just bought the X-Men trilogy and it's coming through the mail. Hopefully it doesn't get damage and has that problem. I have Get Smart and it was broken when it arrived, which doesn't affect the Blu's, but it is annoying. Also I haven't found a place with the 3blu holders to replace it. Anyone have any idea where to hunt them down???
