Default 24p question

This is a little new to me, but I understand the concepts of it and why it would look good.
My question is...
My Mitsu DLP doesn't support 24hz in 1080p mode... but! it does support 24hz in pc mode... which would still be broadcasting to the TV in 1920x1080p 24hz
would I get the same effect?

Just curious, its all going through DVI to HDMI
and the TV supports
Quote:
EIA-861D standard for digital audio and video via HDMI
HDMI standard connector
Video: 60 Hz: 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i
24 Hz, 30 Hz, 60 Hz: 1080p
Audio: PCM stereo
According to the manual... you would think i could use 24hz without it being in PC mode according to how its worded in the book.

as a followup, I found this on many sites as well

here's one
http://www.amazon.com/Mitsubishi-WD-...ata/B000RYRAT8
Quote:
HDMI digital PC compatibility
640x480, 898x480, 800x600, 1064x600, 1024x768, 1280x720, 1365x768, 1280x1024 at 60 Hz: Yes
1920x1080 at 24 Hz, 30 Hz, 60 Hz: Yes
1080p (24 Hz, 30 Hz, 60 Hz): Yes
Just trying to figure out if that means its rocking 24hz or what

the only time nvidia lets me pick 24hz though, is if I don't use the hdtv output, and just set the resolution to 1920x1080 at 24hz... which is why I think the tv sees it as a pc connection instead of a 1080p connection...

is this something up with nvidia or?

If you use the pc mode (and if you are using WinDVD 9) I would use 60hz.

I would like it to use the 1080p mode and let me switch to 24hz when watching blu and back when not...
but for some reason Nvidia won't let me choose that refresh rate with the HDTV outputs that its has in the control panel...

Do you think its becuase it thinks my TV can't recognize it?

Okay figured out where the 24hz was for hdtv output, when I use it however, the overscan that I have at 60hz (corrected by nvidia's resize) turns into an underscan, that i have to set each time I switch resolutions...
Really obnoxious...
So basically, there is no quick switching from one to the other... it actually works well, but too much of a hassle, unless nvidia lets you save profiles that can recall what resize you use...
