I just ordered a PS3 and now I'm wondering what games to get. I bought MLB 08 The Show, since it was rated so much better than 2K8, but not sure what else I should get.
What are your favorite games that were well-worth the money? They should have decent replay ability and maybe pretty decent multiplayer since the damn games are $60 each. Not interested in any more sports games or Call of Duty as I have that for PC. Also, what is this "Dual Shock 3" and how is it different than the standard controller? The last console I had was the N64. Since then I've focused on PC games. The games I have my eye on for the future are: GTA4 Killzone 2 Haze Resistance 2 *EDIT* Anyone have any games they want to sell? Last edited by Augustine864; 04-13-2008 at 05:22 AM. |

The following games that I recommend are already out in stores.
For Multiplayer: Resistance: Fall of Man Call of Duty 4 Motorstorm For Single Player: Uncharted: Drakes Fortune Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction And this "Dualshock 3" is a upgraded controller of the PS3. Unlike the "Sixaxis" controller which had only tilt and no rumble functions, the "Dualshock 3" has both tilt and rumble functions built into it. Allows a more immersive feel into the game. |

Out of my 20 games, Burnout Paradise has gotten the most playtime.
And Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is the best game on the console to date, IMO. The best thing about being a PS3 owner is the free demos for almost all games. So head on over to the PS Store, download a lot of demos, and use that to make your purchase decisions. BTW, a PS Store update is coming on Tuesday, so be sure to check your updates. It should be a lot more pleasant getting your demos then. Welcome to the club. ![]() |

I'm going to make a few assumptions here. Since you play Call of Duty 4 on PC, I would guess you have at least some decent reflexes.
My recommendations would be: Devil May Cry 4 Stylish combat, lots of replay value. Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition Non-standard free-form role playing game. Virtually endless replay value. Grand Theft Auto 4 (April 29) Not out yet, but will be soon. Tons of content, online multiplay with lots of modes. Unreal Tournament III If you're itching for another shooter, UT3 on the PS3 offers many of the same modifications that are available on the PC version, and is a much faster paced game than CoD4. Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction R&C on the PS3 is, for all intents and purposes, an interative Pixar film. Simply breathtaking visuals and great gameplay. As for the Dual Shock 3, I just got one. It's exactly the same as a SixAxis controller, except that it's substantially weightier (weighs about twice as much, and as such feels a lot more sturdy), and obviously it has Rumble. |

Uncharted : Drake's Fortune (Great Single Player Game)
Ratchet & Clank : Future Tools Of Destruction (Great Single Player Game Again) Burnout Paradise (Great Racing Game) (Or wait a couple of days for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue) Call Of Duty 4 (Amazing Online Play) |

Thanks for suggestions. I'll have to keep these in mind.
As for Drake's Fortune, I heard it was pretty good and also one of the first to really separate the PS3 from the 360 visually since it is PS3 exclusive, but it has no mulitplayer, or so I remember. This seriously has me wondering whether I want to fork over $60. I thought maybe it would make a good rental, but I'm not sure how long it is. Any ideas about that? As for the guy who told me that the PS3 is also a bluray player... I am on a bluray forum so.... haha. Thanks though. ![]() |

If you rent it, you could probably beat Uncharted.
Replay value is not that high. I beat it in 8 hours, and I didn't rush. I sometimes just wandered around and stared at the waters and trees in amazement because the graphics are that good. haha |
