Default Your experience with D-Link Routers?

Hey guys, I thought I would ask about your experiences in dealing/using D-Link Routers in terms of reliability, performance, installation, etc?

I am curious because I just purchased a new D-Link DIR-655 XTreme N Router, but I have not really heard much about D-Link in general - all I hear about is either Linksys, Netgear, or Belkin. I will say though that the D-Link DIR-655 is definitely worth the reviews its been getting because it definitely blows away the Linksys WRT160N in terms of performance, installation, and features from my perspective.

Anyhow, any opinions?

I have D-Link DI-604 router for probably 3 or 4 years. Works great for me.

I use the DIR-655 for sometime now. No problems to report. I did have to call for help to fix an issue with my two-laptop computers, but it only took five to ten minuets and it was fixed

One thing that you should do is down-load the newer divers if you have not already done this.

D-Link is good. Seems to be reliable. These words are now going through D-Link GamerLounge Router.

I got that one, had it over a year plus 2 media bridges from dlink. Never had to reboot router except for firmware updates. Works just fine. I have 4 comps and 2 consoles on the network.
Configuration is easy. Duno what else, performance is very good.

I have the D-Link DIR-655 XTreme N Router as well. No issues at all, but I may make that due to my experience. Shouldn't be rough on anyone, though, regardless of experience. Performance is also very goo, with the sole exception of trying to get wireless on it when you are right next to it. That's not a downside, just my own stupidity when I pop open my laptop or iPod at my desk, and try to get on the wireless out of habit. Signal is messed up when you're within 2 feet of the router. But I'm certain all wireless products are like that.

I'm just waiting to get some "slightly damaged" router from work (i.e., some features don't work that I'm not going to use anyways, or it has 1 dead port). Then I'll just hardwire everything for gigabit.

Had the DGL-4300 and it was probably one of the best routers I ever owned. Always reliable and worked like a champ. My only gripe is that the menu system was lousy--D-Link has this habit of renaming crap and using non-standard terminology to describe what is essentially the same feature.

I sold it about a year ago and got an Airport Extreme, which I also love, were it not for the fact that the AE doesn't have traffic prioritizing. Oh well.

Interesting. DLink has all good reports. It must be highly reliable brand/box. I am using DLink for about a year or so without any issues.

Nowadays D-Link is great. They used to be networking HELL though. They have come a LONG way since 4 years ago.
