Default re: Juno on BD...is it worth it?

I often wonder which movies are worth the extra price for a Blu Ray price (usually $10-15 more than regular DVD).

One example is Juno and I wrestle with deciding whether this movie is worth the extra for BD. I own only a couple BDs as I have recently purchased a PS3 60G unit. I look forward to Sweeney Todd, Cloverfield, and movies that I feel would look and feel extraoridnary on BD.

Anyone have any input on this. I apologize if there is another thread like this as I did not see any when I looked into the history!

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums

Just so you know it is never good to question if something needs to be on Blu at least not here.

All films will look better on Blu, and eventually we hope most things will be on Blu. The point is if YOU think it is worth the price. For us, it is. Anything that is out on both Blu and DVD is worth the Blu-ray price to most of us.
I don't buy any DVDs anymore unless they are obscure things and not likely to see Blu-ray for a while. But for all major films, I have been putting off buying the DVD until the Blu comes out, even if that means it could be more than a year.

As for Juno, I think it will look great on Blu, but I have not seen the movie myself yet. I am sure you will see a lot of people telling you it is worth it.

Agree with the "all movies look better on blu" however, the only reason I own Wild Hogs on Blu was because of a B1G1 sale. Would I pay 29.99 for Juno on Blu, no. If I get it for a base price = to dvd.....yes.

seriously who wants to see a piece of pregnant teenage jailbait running around the whole time trying to find the daddy, if she'd kept her legs closed there wouldnt have been a movie... lol. This movie discusted me, and will not be in my collection. However i heard the audio was amazing. to each is own.

since i no longer buy DVDs unless it's boxed set non-HD (anime, south park, family guy) then yes, it's worth it. i figure if i dropped 3k on a nice HD set, i might as well make good use of it.

Are you sure you saw the movie? Because she doesn't spend a single second ever trying to "find the daddy." She knows who the father is from the beginning of the movie, and it's revealed to the audience within the first 10 minutes.

You are right about that!

But this movie seems to be far from Superbad. I'm still not decided if I should buy this...

With the exception of a few movies, most will look better. Hitch just to name one horrid movie lol.

Yes, get Juno.

I suspect some religious leader told you as much, since that is a wild variant from the content of the actual movie.

If you're anything like me, any movie you buy on DVD today, you'll wish you'd bought on Blu Ray in a few years.
Even now with my meager BD collection, I'm much more likely to want to watch a BD than my 1000s of DVDs.
In time the money you spend on a DVD that you could have bought on Blu Ray is apt to be wasted.
