Default Playback problems with AVP: Requiem...

Is anyone having difficulties w/ their copy of AVP-R? I have bought two now and both don't work. I get to the menu screen - after an eon of loading time - and after I choose which film version, the movie starts, but i get no picture. I get sound and can access the menu, but no film image.

I have an SXRD (first gen) and a BD1400 Samsung player. Perhaps there's a problem w/ my TV, but doubt it. I think I'm all up to date on my firmware.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Another Sammy my BD does not play. You should get in on that class action lawsuit.

Double check to see if you are up-to date on the firmware. Someone else with a 1400 said the movie played fine.

so... stupid question.

Why does everyone post that the ps3 works and not helping the op out with their problems? We all know it works in the ps3.

I think the PS3 owners were trying to explain that the problem does not lie in the disk it's self.

Exactly!! The op thinks they might have gotten a defective disc. It probably has something to do with his sammy BD player.

OK..I have a PS3 and a Samsung 1400 BD-P, and the movie plays fine on both. There were two update for the Samsung, the OP should verify that he has the last one installed. I really don't remember the date of the update, but it can be found in the Samsung 1400 Blu-ray player thread.

likewise, my sammy1400 played flawlessly all the way through.

im not even up to date on firmwares. i think im one or two behind last time i checked. are you experiencing the same problem on both copies you got? the video only dropping out once you start the movie?

id just check all your connections, pop in another disc or two to make sure all is well, and double check to make sure you're not trying to play the digital copy.

Sony BDP S1 and a couple updates behind and it played flawlessly. No complaints except for the extreme dark . The pq was excellent in what I could see. Problem is definately not the disc.
