Default BD advances

Do you think they'll ever release movies on advanced BDs that have a 100GB capacity? If these won't be compatible with current players, do you really think they'll do that? Or will it be made compatible through firmware update?

Each layer is 25GB; it is possible to do a 4 layer disc. I actually read somewhere that some lab made a 10 layer disc but they do not have readers/players sophisticated enough yet to read them.

In short, yes, I think so.

No, they will never do so. It's 50/50 that even 100GB BD-Rs will ever hit shelves
