COD 4 MP questions (Split screen etc) Advantages vs Pc? - Blu-ray Forum

I don't know if I should buy Cod4 for ps3 or not, since I like the mouse + Keyboard. I borrowed my friends PC version of COD4 and beat the campaign, but now I want to buy the game on some platform, since I don't believe in piracy.

I just want to be able to play with my friend who comes here on weekends, he can't just sit and watch (that is no fun!)
Then I read you can't play Campaign and Online vs. other players.

Can you at least play deathmatch vs. the Computer?
I think friends will get bored if its just one on one.
What advantage does the PS3 ver. of COD4 have vs. the PC?
Right now I can play COD4 1920x1200, but the PS3 is half of that res.

I'll probably buy the FRAGFX but i'm still short on cash.

Going to decide today if I'm buying
A. Warhawk
B. COD4

If I still had a job, I'd be able to get both games and the frag Fx, but I can't right now. I do start work again pretty soon, but I still need to pay current bills.

yeah unless you have 2 ps3s I believe you cant get online with 2 people on the same single ps3

Do not pass up COD 4! The online is the best part. the rounds are like 10 min. each, not too long to sit through and if you think it is, just switch after like every 3 deaths or something....

That is correct - But Warhawk you can play 2 player split screen online, but only unranked rooms. Which means you wont Rank up...

+ it will put you in a skill level group so if your new or have trouble ranking up you will probly 80-90% of the time be with those who are right around your skill level every now and then we get a match where its like 4 new people v. a couple upper ranks like us

Oh so you do have a way to work your way up, instead of just going in there as a newb and getting owned by pros? good.

you got it, + they set it up to help keep what your worried about a little in-check my opinion id go with cod4 help get your online confidence back up

Man this sucks, Gamestop said COD4 GOTY ed. won't be out til May 7.
I'm like huh? IGN and their site says APRIL 23
I called 2 of them.

Whats the difference with the regular COD and Game of the Year Edition. If i were you, id buy COD4 and Warhawk used....

Dual Shock 3 capability.

I just wonder how much PSN will charge for those updates?
Or will you NOT be able to get them at all?

If I buy COD4 used for 49.99
and then download the map packs for 19.99
then it will cost the same, but the game won't be new.

I hate the way gamers abuse the cases (non replaceable)
at Gamestop. You save 5-10 bucks but the game ends up looking like trash.
I had a RFOM used game but it was very scratched, I had to come back there and demand another disc.

But I'll think about it, I might end up doing that.

Well, I used to work at Funcoland, now Gamestop years ago. It was policy to not accept any game that was scratched significantly, so you should take it back and ask for a new one if that happens. As far as the cases go, im not picky myself when it comes to them. Also, i thought the map pack only was going to cost $9.99?

Yeah I asked for a new disc, played it for another week then I got bored.
Seriously, COD4 pwns Resistance. I've played too many FPS games to be wowed by RFOM, its mediocre to my tastes.

If the map pack is $9.99 then I think that's a whole lot better. I hope I'm wrong! I just see a lot of updates on psn costing a whopping $19.99 and I'm like , isn't that really ripping people off? I hate microtransactions.

COD4 is 54.99 used at Gamestop
with the 9.99 pack its already going to be 64.99
Thats too much for a video game, and its way more than the PC version.

if I buy COD4 for ps3, its going to be on amazon, used like new 42.99
old edition.
but with the 9.99 game pack, it will end up being about the same price as new too. No way I can win.

The ps3 version is less than half the resolution.
The ps3 version does have split screen as an advantage but only
1 on 1, 2 on 2 or free for all.

PC version can dl maps for free I think.

hmm I'm stuck right now.
