Default Cannot play blu-ray disc on my vaio VGN-AR31S

I have recently got a vaio VGN-AR31S. I use the pre-installed WinDVD BD for Vaio to play blu-ray disc. I have updated all the softwares from the vaio support site. I have Vista as the Operating system.

I am unable to play my first blu-ray movie Casino Royale. When i insert the disc into the drive, it spins for some time and then nothing happens. The WinDVD does not start up automatically. If i manually start WinDVD also, then nothing happens on clicking play button. No error messages.

Is the drive unable to detect the disc or is it something else.

The pre-installed WinDVD for VAIO refuses to play a few of mine as well.
It's the player software.
You need to get either PowerDVD Ultra or WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-ray.

Default Had similar issue but found the solution!!

I had the same experience until I found that the region code for the DVD software was set to the wrong region. Make sure both DVD drive and software are set to the same region A code if you are US users.
