Default Zavvi - card issues

Hey, sorry if this is the wrong forum.

I have a bunch of blu's on preorder from zavvi, thing is at the time I didn't notice my card (master card) was going to expire.
I messaged Zavvi yesterday asking if it's possible to update the card details and they said the only way to do so would be to cancel the order and re-order. But the issue is that one my pre-orders is sold out now.
I've looked at the details and really the only thing different is the expiry date on the card, is this really enough to cause an issue?

Anybody think of a way around this?

I know it's my fault but really not happy!

Good luck! They are the worst for this and customer service in general.

Thanks,

It's so frustrating. Other companies you can ammend details, I'm sure one even send me an email on shipping date saying they couldn't take payment details and to resubmit them.

I know Zavvi aren't known for their customer service but it's ridiculous that you can't amend the order over-the-phone with them or use a different payment option. For a company that makes a lot of money with limited editions you'd think they'd understand your predicament!

My card was damaged and i had to get a replacement, i explained this to Zavvi and twice i got the same answer they can't amend the details; great for an online company not! It won't make a blind bit of difference if you explain to them that the item is a pre-order and sold out, so you can't just cancel and re-order as they suggest.

However, what i would point out is that when they are about to send your order if they have a problem with payment they will give you the opportunity to amend the order with new payment details. I ended up checking daily for about a week as this option does not last more then about a day.

I would just wait until they fail to take a payment, then either update the payment method online or call them with the new payment details.

So they do give a chance to ammend details. Just making sure I'm understanding that correctly?!

The sold out pre-order is the Thor steelbook, and my card expires this months. Just dont know if it's classed as the end of the month or start. I already have my new card.

Agreed. The fact I the only place to get the Tenebrae steelbook is from there really annoys me. Awful.

It depends on the card and there's just conflicting answers on the internet (!). Hopefully you'll get an email to amend you card details or change the payment option. I'd imagine they'll attempt a charge once, email you with notification of a second attempt with options to amend or phone them. Otherwise you're out of luck!

Yep but it isn't long i.e. about 24 hours, hence why i kept checking my orders in the run up to the advertised release date.
