BLU-RAY 'Newbie' Please help with Golden Compass 7.1 - Blu-ray Forum

I've just ordered my first Blu-Ray player (Panasonic BD30EK) & am really looking forward to getting my first disc on. My display will be 1366x768 so I guess I won't have 'Full' HD of 1080p but it will be 720p - hopefully I will still see the difference over standard DVD quality. I have a question about the audio on the Blu-Ray release of Golden Compass - it states DTS 7.1 MA only but as I am still building up my bedroom home cinema at the moment I only use the audio from the tv - does anyone know if the audio will still come through the tv speakers or is it a case of no DTS decoder then no playback, any help would be great!!!

most bds have a second audio track, ill check this one out

Yes it plays through my TV via HDMI on a SONY BDP-S300

its the only audio track at all and you will still get audio but it will be downscaled

Your receiver will dumb it down and you will be fine.
