Question Samsung BDP1400

I have had this unit for a few months now and I am very satisfied with it for blu ray movies. I am considering purchasing an Oppo 980H for standard dvd use. Would I be wasting my money? I would like to hear your opinions.

I have a BD-P1400, and I don't think the standard dvd upconversion is very good. If I end up watching a dvd, I usually use my XBOX 360. I find there is much less noise, and a clearer picture.

I own a Samsung 1400, and I have no idea why you imply that it makes "noise" while playing DVDs?

Not audible noise. Visual noise in the picture. The 1400 just isn't as good at upconversion than other players IMO.
