Default Six Degrees Could Change The World - how does it measure up?

I got an email from Amazon where this disc is mentioned. It looks kind of neat but they dont list how long it is or any real details. Is it good? Has anyone scene it? I enjoyed Planet Earth and Gallapagos. Would like to get some of those Imax discs but they are really short. Can anyone share where the Six Degrees ranks? Thanks.

I got this disc from Amazon yesterday and watched about an hour of it. (The total time of the main feature is 90 minutes.) As documentaries go, it's pretty dry and very repetitive; it focuses entirely on global warming and paints a pretty dreary picture of the world's future. The PQ varies widely, ranging from old news footage to present-day shots. Most current footage looked pretty decent, but there's nothing that had the typical HD 'pop'. AQ was fair, but hey, it's just a spoken documentary! Overall, I have to say that I was a little disappointed with it. I don't think I'll want to watch it again, fascinating though the subject matter was.

well its not like a movie from like sony or some company like that so really dont expect the pq to look as good as its supposed to but for a good global warming blu-ray better off with something like Day After Tomorrow

Well, I guess I was expecting it to be along the same lines as Al Gore's 'An Inconvenient Truth', which I found really compelling and even entertaining. 'Six Degrees' wasn't anywhere near as good IMO, though it covers much of the same subject matter.

I watched it on TV, it was interesting. I just didn't like it enough to spend $20 on.

I just got it from Amazon today and I'll be reviewing it for the site shortly. But yes, I don't expect to be wowed by the testimony I've read so far.

Absolutely, if it helps father a leader that isn't afraid of the scientific method.

I enjoyed it. I also own Planet Earth and Gallapagos as well. Let's put it this way, if you care about the world around us and enjoy documentaries in general, then this is for you.
