Saw one on a 'local' torrent site a few days ago. It was about 20GiB. Bit to big for me thought I have a download limit of 10GiB\month

I'm currently seeing for download (from an HD-DVD disc):

The Fifth Element (720p) 4.33Gib
Pirates 7.92GiB
Kung-Fu Hustle (1080i) 7.67GiB

So it is most definitely possible. Although the ones I'm seeing are compressed to fit on a DVD. Still haven't seen a FULL HD-DVD yet.

Those are from satellite caps. What happened to HD-DVD is pure uncompressed goodness right off of the disc.

And here I am just having a slow download of Yahoo HD trailers at less than 200MB!

But you don't have a BD burner do you, Dave? 'Cuz it'd impress the heck of your BD friends to see Serenity playing off a BD player or a PS3.

So were you able to watch the movie? How? Did you just watch it from the hard-drive, or did you burn it on some disc?

Plus: did you post it on AVS yet?

Here is some proof:

I wouldn't post this directly in AVS, it will probably get you banned and your IP address will be sent to the MPAA and they will sue you for some amount of money.

It happened at the wee hours of the night, once people wake up and have their morning coffee, it will be much more widespread then it is at the moment. I'm sure all the blog sites are going to post this like psycho today as well. Watch for it.

BTW, guys, do you think now is the time to start that internet petition??

NEW ONLINE PETITION!!! Sony, MGM, Fox, Disney and Lionsgate, PLEASE RELEASE YOUR MOVIES ON HD-DVD SO THAT LITTLE JOHNNY CAN PIRATE IT EASIER. K THX BYE!

Think it would go over well? I might have to ask RDJam to sponsor it!

For what? For posting news?
Also owning a torrent file is not a crime. Torrents are hash checksum of files basically.

Before getting too excited about this misfortune with HD-DVD, what is to stop the same exploit ultimately being used with the Blu Ray discs out there? (this is an honest question, just want to understand why we won't be reading this about Blu Ray in a week or so).
