Grand Theft Auto IV:Random Characters

I had a look but could not find a thread about this, sorry if there is already one.

I want to get the 100% completion of the game but am having trouble with the random characters you can meet in the game. Basically I can't find them. Have done the missions that unlock them but they are not where they are supposed to be. Now have you got a limited window of opportunity to do them or can you do a bit more of the main game then go back and do the random characters missions?

Any help would be great.

Not really sure what you are talking about. If I think i know what you are talking about, look for the icon on your map that looks like a male icon for a male bathroom. They just pop up from time to time and say friend when you hover over them. I think they useally spawn near to where you are and it is random.

I've found two. The drugged out guy hanging around the first safe house and the down-and-out ex-girlfriend of Dwayne hanging in his neighborhood. I have no clue how you unlock them. It seems very random to me.

I've done 5 of em....I always seem to be in the middle of going to pick up Michelle, when all of a sudden, I zoom past one..I end up calling her and cancelling just so I can do those missions...

They only show up on the map when you're very close to them. There's some GTA IV map online like google maps that probably shows the locations.

I only checked that thing out briefly, but it was kind of cool. I wish you could make notes like that on your own GTA in game map. Mark where the hot dog stands are, the pidgeons you've already shot, etc.

I don't think they are needed for 100% completion.

There's also the jamaican guy. I think badman. Not little jacob but the other guy. You pick him up and do one mission with him.

yeah, thats a great one..I got a ton of ammo off of that mission!

4 of them don't count towards 100% but the rest of them due.

you can do them at anytime even if you fail them the characters will respawn later on.

Is there a list of characters/missions somewhere? Including all the main ones also...

I havent noticed or come across any of these characters and Im on the middle island with X and manny and elizabetha etc... Did I just miss them or ?

you just missed them . just drive around a bit and you will seem them or your map you have to be fairly close before the map shows them though.
