As far as the PS3, I've seen the case for the new MGS4 bundle and did notice at least the box is region-coded.

Maybe it took three or four months for the thread to be posted after he clicked submit? Hah!

But if it is real, then OP - the war is officially over, HD DVD folded.

To be fair, perhaps the OP has been in a coma and just woke up. Perhaps he went in right after Paracrap announced they were going HD-DVD exclusive (from what I understand, several people short circuited when that happened)....or...

....maybe (and more plausible), he really is just a newbie (as he stated in the thread title), such as myself, and has not quite comfotable using the search button....or...

...maybe he's a long time member playing a joke. A very sick, delusional, not-so-funny joke.

No lord of the ring announcements yet hopefully soon. Blu-Ray is the new universal Hi-Def format. I love blu-ray.

and a lot of people here will tell you to use the search function before you ask a Q....ESPECIALLY if you are new...because this gets questioned a lot with a lot of new people and the same answers get posted over and over....

Hey guys, remember, some people are just discovering there are High Definition discs that are better than DVD and they would come here looking for info.

And Hd DVD left some residual radiation after it scorched the earth that tends to linger as radio noise

OP, don't worry about it, you get on specialized forums like these and everyone is a know-it-all that pretty much lurks here just to try to correct everyoen with their vast BR knowledge in order to feel like they are part of the forefront of some cutting edge tech; it provides some of them with validation that they need to justifty actually spending 30 bucks to buy a crappy movie like underworld 2 for their collection, and a sense of purpose and expertise in something they can feel smart talkign to thier senile parents about who couldn't really care less about it in the first place.

Hate to be harsh but that's what I've picked up from coming here and why I don't really bother with the forums. They seem to only exist for people that want to pat their own back and try to e-Press everone with the money they've wasted to have a huge library full of second-rate movies in high def that aren't worth watching once let alone owning.
